Two part form, the 17th century lacquered cabinet featuring a black lacquered field with pagoda figural and avian gilt design, ornamented with applied chased brass corner mounts and hinges opening to an interior of ten small divided interior case drawers again with a black lacquered field and featuring figures and a mountain scene, resting on a 18th century boldly carved gilt wood stand featuring a central urn flanked by cherubs, bold acanthus leaf and scrolling, four cabriole legs with robust acanthus carved knees.

Front cabinet doors with shrinkage cracks; lacquer and chinoiserie loss to front and side cabinet facings; enhanced gilding; minor gilt and gesso losses throughout stand; some shrinkage separation between acanthus leaf and scrolling.
