Stephanus Heidacker is an artist living and painting in Berlin. He studied with Hermann Albert and Peter Voigt at HBK Braunschweig from 1979 until 1985.

The present painting, form Heidacker's early period, shows the confluence of inspiration distilled from the large scale nudes of Aristide Maillol, the magical realism of the Italian painters of the 1920s and 1930s, and the disquieting figural work of Balthus.

Craquelure along edges of burlap with some paint lifting and loss.
