Antoine Obin was born in Cap-Haïtien, His father was Philomé Obin, considered by many to the be one of Haiti's greatest painters. Antoine's painting style mirrored that of his father's through a geometric perspective and flat planes of color, delineated by crisp lines of detail. Like his father, he focused on scenes of everyday life, capturing the citizens of Haiti at work and play within the built environment.
