Luigi Lucioni was a prolific artist, known for his landscape paintings, still lifes, portraits and etchings. Born in Italy, Lucioni immigrated to the United States in 1911. He studied at The Cooper Union and the National Academy of Design.

Lucioni's still life paintings are found in several prominent collections including the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C.; and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. In June 2022 the Shelburne Museum in Lucioni's adopted homeland of Vermont is mounting an important exhibition of his work, Luigi Lucioni: Modern Light, which will run through October 16th.
