France, circa 1870, ornate settee form having dual lidded round inkwells and glass inserts, beneath a foliate and floral reticulated gallery with finely cast female mask, everted gadrooned arms each with removable patinated metal inserts, the sides with foliate scroll panel relief work on a stippled ground, verso with sphinx decoration, raised on scrolled acanthus leg mounts with putti mask knees, underside feet with incised mark "1009 / L R."
