Attributed to the Sharrock family, eastern region, circa 1800, yellow pine secondary, dovetailed case, two board rectangular top with applied molded edge, four graduated drawers with scratch bead and light wood line inlay to border with astragal corners, applied molding at base, distinctive shaped bracket feet with inward carved foot tip.

Underside of bottom board pencil script "Bureau...", other pencil and scribe markings to back panels of drawers.

Old (in the black) surface; top with sun fading, dark marks and ring staining; later pulls (some shadow marks); right rear foot bracing later.
