Lot 3512
Ninth Plate Ambrotype of Young Confederate Soldier
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
The unidentified sitter wears a nine-button gray shell jacket with conforming kepi; he also sports a patriotic or company designation ribbon reading "MOORE'S GUARD (?)," which suggests that he was perhaps a North Carolinian from Moore County.

A long vertical series of scratches along the right side of the images look like a rifle at first glance; the image with a few marks; the mat with splits and bends.
