Edwardian Carved Mahogany Slant Front Desk and Chair

Circa 1900, including a relief carved mahogany slant front desk with brass gallery, mask and cornucopia carved lid with divided interior featuring a central prospect door, three block front drawers, spiral twist quarter columns, relief carved sides, ball and claw feet (41 x 31 x 22 in.); together with an early 20th century Hepplewhite style side chair with relief carved back splay, needlepoint slip seat, front fluted tapered legs, stretcher base (35.5 x 21 x 16.5 in., seat height 18.5 in.).

Desk: scratches and discoloration to top; edge chips to molded slant lid; old chips and loss to relief carved central mask; shrinkage cracks to lid; interior with surface wear from use; right side with shrinkage crack.

Chair: later upholstered seat; scuff to crest rail; mar to back of back splat; scattered surface wear and slightly loose joints.
