19th century, carved wood with applied gesso and polychrome, glass eyes, articulating standing forms likely depicting Mary and Joseph, naturalistically carved and painted in matching celestial blue undergarments (to be dressed and displayed in various saintly outfits), Mary fitted with hair, each mounted upon a custom wood stand.
