Spanish Colonial Santos Figure of Saint Isidore the Farmer

19th century, possibly Mexico or Central America, carved wood, gesso and polychrome with glass eyes and metal nimbus mount, composition depicting Saint Isidore with accompanying cow and angel, all mounted to a cylindrical wood terrace. Isidore would have likely once held spade attribute from the corresponding mount hole on base.

19 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 in.

Loss to saint's left arm and angel's arms; some hairlines and vertical crack to base verso and figure obverse; areas of crackle and paint loss with some areas of later paint.
