Late 18th century, poplar secondary, brass face marked Joseph Wills with calendar aperture, Roman numerals, second hand numerals, the dovetailed hood with tiered stepped pediment and distinctive mushroom finials, tombstone hinged door with applied columns, solid case sides; the case featuring a hinged tombstone door with flame figured burl walnut, ogee bracket feet; with one weight.

An excellent period American case.

Associated period brass face; top plinth is loose on the hood; horizontal line (mar) at all sides to base of case; slight warp to waist door; shrinkage cracks to base; lacking pendulum.
