19th century or earlier, Mexico, carved wood with polychrome, the smaller of a bearded figure, naturalistically carved with glass eyes, later inscribed "Mexico" to underside numeric inscriptions (6 3/4 in.); the second of a youthful figure with curled hair, appears unmarked (7 1/4 in.).
