Both signed, ink on paper, one depicts a youth on horseback amid a swarm of phoenix-like creatures (frame dimensions 20 x 25-1/2 in.); the other drawing depicts two pirates in the manner of Howard Pyle (frame dimensions 18 x 14-3/4 in.).

Pitz was a prolific artist, writer and teacher. He is often remembered for authoring The Brandywine Tradition (1968).
