The first worked in multi-color silk thread on linen ground with bands of various floral and geometric motifs, with stitched initials and date appearing to read, "D.M.D. M. ? M. F 27, 1851", presented under glass in a walnut veneer and gilt frame (frame dimensions 23.5 x 17.5 in.) (with staining; stitch loss; stapled to cardboard backing; examined out of frame); the second British, worked in multi-color silk thread on fine linen weave, with pious verses and floral and figurative motifs, bottom register with maker's name, age and date, "Susan Gooch / aged 11 years / 1826", housed under glass in painted wood frame (frame dimensions 17.75 x 13.75 ) (with loss; holes; dye run; staining; frame with repair and loss; frame missing three corner medallions; not examined out of frame).
