In Greek mythology, Ganymede was a prince whom the god Zeus, in the form of an eagle, carried off to Mount Olympus to serve as cupbearer to the gods.

One inch area of roughness along base rim; some chipping to Ganymede's face; repair to ewer handle; visible under UV light are possible areas of restoration to Ganymede's head and lower waist.
