Attributed to eastern Virginia, early 19th century, bookmatched walnut veneers, yellow pine secondary, three-part form, removable cove molded dovetailed cornice with upper triple line inlay and vertically veneered frieze, dovetailed bookcase with two hinged panel doors featuring bold ovals with figured veneers within triple line inlay, interior with three louvered shelves, base with molded edge and line inlay at top above a pull-out fall-front butler's desk, the detailed interior with inlaid prospect door opening to reveal four small hidden drawers, flanked by six drawers and six pigeon holes with shaped valances, all small drawers with highly figured burl veneer, above two paneled lower cabinet hinged doors, each with oval figured burl veneered panel within triple line inlay; interior with three pull-out shaped drawers, drawers and cabinet doors with bone kite-shaped escutcheons, molded base raised on shaped bracket feet.
