19th century, hand-painted in oval format, the smaller a portrait of a French Contessa, with floral corsage and hair pin, painted on celluloid, faint signature to left edge, with ink inscription regarding sitter to frame verso (Frame dimensions 4 3/8 x 3 3/4 in.); the larger a three-quarter portrait of a Lady in blue dress with green shawl, watercolor and gouache on paper, unsigned, ink inscribed "c.1805-1815 / Schwarzenfeld" to reverse (Frame dimensions 5 x 3 1/2 in.), both presented in period frames behind glass.
