Stretcher size 30 x 36 in.; Frame dimensions 36 1/4 x 42 1/4 in.

Born in Buffalo, New York, James Kerr began his art studies at a young age. Two of his greatest mentors were Lazlo Szabo, a renowned portrait painter and Carl Illig, a prominent landscape painter. He describes his work as all about "capturing a moment in time." One of his paintings was recently selected by the U.S. Department of State for an Art in Embassies exhibition in Muscat, Oman.

He lived many years in the Blue Ridge Mountains, but currently maintains a studio in Boca Raton, Florida. This painting depicts a blue berry farm in Vilas, North Carolina.
