French School (circa 1800), Pair of Floral Still Lifes with Parrots

Oil on canvas, unsigned, each depicting an urn overflowing with flowers perched atop a pedestal with curious parrot and trails of fruit below, presented in period frames with shaped arch pediments, likely from a suite of panel paintings, both retaining labels from the Marshall Field Company, one retains a French packer label as well.

Frame dimensions 55 3/4 x 25 1/4 in. (each)

One painting retains a label from the Minneapolis Institute of Art indicating that the pair were on loan from Mrs. C. C. Bovey.

Several breaks and repairs to each frame; several old patches to each canvas, with associated retouch; darkened varnish and minor surface abrasions.
