18th century, the slightly curved 11-1/4 in. blade of Damascus steel with two gilt inlays variously depicting a lion and a tiger devouring prey; the blade's top edge with inlaid Arabic calligraphy; the guard with two additional gilt inlays of tigers and prey; the curved figural grip is fashioned as a gilt silver lion devouring a silver deer; the blade's wooden sheath is covered in green velvet with silver braid accents.
