1874 patent, one part form with a removable turned and carved backsplash with raised burl wood veneer panels, upper hinged panel with document shelves, two hinged waterfall paneled doors (the left with letter slot), the interior with several pigeonholes, glass door letter box, fall front desk with interior leather writing surface, divided and drawered compartments, the lower section with four drawers flanked by document compartments, the whole with birds eye maple highlights, fluted feet on casters.

A finely executed piece of case furniture finished on all sides and in good operational order.

Overall good estate condition; the case with a few small scratches and dings; smooth operating doors and fall front panel; fall front lid with scratch to lower left; likely later green leather writing surface (but appropriate); the right door with a shrinkage crack to the interior side panel; the left door with marring to the interior side panel near latch, and the exterior left side panel with small veneer chip.
