George Waite was a well established Chicago artist working mostly in the abstract expressionist style. He was a featured artist in the "12 Chicago Artists" exhibition at McCormick Place Art Gallery in 1962. Waite was also honored posthumously in the "I Read It For the Art: Chicago, Creativity and Playboy" exhibition at the Hyde Park Art Center in 2004.
