A Kansas native, Hoss Haley is a contemporary sculptor creating both large scale and intimate works in bronze, steel, or other metals at his studio in Penland, North Carolina. He favors industrial materials and fabrication methods, building or adapting the machines and tools he uses to produce his work. His work is influenced both conceptually and aesthetically by the western landscape of his youth.

Hoss has completed public art projects for the Pack Square Conservancy (Asheville, North Carolina), Charlotte Area Transit System and Mecklenburg County, as well as several privately commissioned large-scale steel sculptures. Haley’s sculptures have exhibited at various museums and galleries nationwide, with a recent piece in the permanent collection at the North Carolina Museum of Art. He is represented by Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. Hoss has been a resident artist at Penland School of Crafts (North Carolina) and at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (Wisconsin).
