Herbert Izant was an English artist working in oils and in watercolour in the late nineteenth century. His subject matter was varied and ranged from landscapes and still life to social gatherings. Izant was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy between 1886 and 1898 and earlier at Sussex Street between 1880 and 1882.

Replaced stretchers; obscuring varnish with some scattered retouch visible under UV light; stable craquelure.
