Lot Details & Additional Photographs
1930s-40s, streaky well-colored Chrome Red glaze, small rounded rim, wide applied ear handles, tapered body, not signed.

17 x 12 x 10 in.

From the Collection of Richard Hall, Raleigh, North Carolina

Because of the lower used for chromium oxide, as well as a lower finishing temperature, this glaze has a propensity to flake more easily than other glazes used on earthenware during the pre-war period.

Roughness at lower rim where drips were originally ground or broke; flake to each handle; flake to rim.
