The ladybug with coral wings and with collet set diamond accents weighing approximately .25 total carat (E-F color, VS clarity) to wings and legs, head and legs with black enamel detailing, completed with a hinged double pin stem, signed Cartier Paris, numbers appear to read 94714, and with French assay mark for 18KT.

The brooch was originally gifted to Ruth Lee, wife of Sherman Emery Lee, director of the Cleveland Museum of Art from 1958-1983, by Greta and Severance Millikin, major benefactors of the museum. Passed down to her daughter, Katharine Lee Reid, who also served as director at the museum, deputy director of the Art Institute of Chicago, and director of the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, the brooch descended to the consignor, Ruth's granddaughter.

Good estate condition; with some enamel loss appropriate to age.
