Lancashire born landscape artist, Charles Greville Morris studied in Paris. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, and elsewhere, from 1886 until 1894. By 1892, he was settled in St. Ives and images of the Cornwall coast crept into his repertoire.

One with large area of loss to lower center of frame; the second painting with small paint flake near lower center edge of canvas, one small area of paint loss in lower right corner under framing; both frames with age cracks.
