Both watercolor on paper; the first titled Tom's Joyful Family, signed and dated 1986 at lower right, matted and framed under glass (Frame dimensions 21 x 27 3/4 in.); the second depicting a winter scene with horses, dog and figure, unsigned, matted and framed under glass (Frame dimensions 25 x 27 1/2 in.).

From the Estate of the late Martha Blake-Adams, Durham, North Carolina

Betty graduated at Durham High School, went on to two years at Women’s College in Greensboro and a final two years in Chapel Hill at UNC. She did some graduate study at Yale and NYU. She was an accomplished, recognized artist and her works hang in many homes around the world.

She spent several years teaching art in public schools, went on to work at UNC Memorial Hospital in the Occupational Therapy Department. Later she returned to teaching art, both at her home and also at the Art School in Carrboro. She was a teacher at heart, who never met a stranger.

Good estate condition; not examined out of the frames.
