Three Antique Carved and Polychrome Santos Figures
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
19th century, likely Spanish Colonial; the first a figure of Christ standing atop a separate shaped pedestal base with scalloped detail to top edge (14 3/8 in.) (lacking both arms, extensive loss to polychrome, base with age cracks and old repair to edge); the second depicting a young man wearing a cloak and tall boots, standing atop an integral hourglass form base (10 in.) (wear to polychrome, lacking both arms, drilled hole to head indicating he once likely had a halo, some chipping to base); the third a male figure holding a tablet inscribed "In peste pano nos E...," affixed to a rough wood plinth (10 1/4 in.) (loss to both feet, allover chipping to surfaces and wear to polychrome).
