.54 caliber, 33 in. round barrel, walnut stock with ramrod, brass mounts including the patchbox on butt, the iron lockplate marked REMINGTON'S / HERKIMER / N.Y. with U.S. / 1850 behind the hammer, the left side of the butt with carved initials "JDR." Overall length 49 in.
