James Warwick Jones is a realist painter whose work depicts regional landscapes from Virginia's Tidewater region. He studied with Jack Whitney Clifton, Will Barnet, Walter Stuempfig and others at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia.

After a long career as a teacher and curator in Norfolk, Jones now focuses on his own painting. He has exhibited extensively and has work in numerous public and private collections including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and Portsmouth Museums.
