Kurt Wayne started in the jewelry business in Vienna, Austria at the age of 10, and he continued working as an apprentice for many years. He emigrated to the United States in 1939 and started his eponymous company in 1945. His inspiration came mainly from nature as seen in his highly detailed animal and foliate designs. Over the years he developed great relationships with the Zales and Marcus families.
