Granville Perkins was born in Baltimore, Maryland and began his formal studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. Best known for his marine and harbor scenes, Perkins also worked as an illustrator for Harper’s and Leslie’s Illustrated News.

Perkins exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Art Institute of Chicago, and the Boston Art Club.

Faint craquelure; light surface grime; minor retouch to sky visible under UV light; later gold paint to frame.
