Patinated cast bronze, signed and numbered edition 18/75 to the naturalistic terrace, the dynamic scene depicting huntsman and horse leaping over a fence with accompanying hound, mounted atop a black hardstone base.

Talented sculptor and animal rights advocate, Barbara Nelson, resides and works in Aiken, South Carolina. She has exhibited her bronze sculptures regionally and has been a featured sculptor for the renowned Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston. Barbara moved to Aiken in the early 2000s, a charming equine community in South Carolina. She was the president and CEO of the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare in Aiken, creating the first non-profit full-service veterinary care clinic in the state of South Carolina. She now assumes the role of chair emeritus and concentrates on philanthropy and legislation. Nelson is also recognized as ex-Master of Foxhounds of Whiskey Road Hounds, and enjoys time spent riding with her German Hanoverian import, Schnapps, as well as her homebred Galoubet and Benvolio show jumper, Peaches.
