Circa 1800, mahogany veneer, serpentine case with hinged slat lid having an opening to the top, open interior with light line inlay to the lid and fabric lining to the box, flush base, the edges with a light and dark wood herringbone inlay.

14.5 x 9 x 12 in.

The Estate of the late Frank Daniels, Jr. and his wife Julia Jones Daniels, Raleigh, North Carolina. A portion of the sale proceeds will be donated to the North Carolina Museum of History Foundation

Inlay loss to the edges; old but later cut slot to the lid, knife box conversion; later fabric lining; no key.
