Lot Details & Additional Photographs
The first being a sixth-plate ambrotype of an elderly gentleman holding a rifle by its muzzle (some emulsion losses that do not harm the subject); the second image is in a half-case and is a sixth-plate tintype of an unarmed young man wearing a federal sack coat, Billie Cowan is penciled in on the interior of the case, though we cannot prove it is the name of the sitter.

Private North Carolina Collection

Both images with some detracting marks to the fields.
