The first an oil on canvas, 1954, signed and dated, inscribed to verso (6 1/4 x 10 5/8 in.); the second an oil on canvas, 1954, signed and dated, inscribed to verso (8 1/2 x 10 1/2 in.); the third an oil on canvas, 1955, unsigned, inscribed to verso (13 x 8 5/8 in.); the fourth an oil on board, 1954, unsigned, inscribed to verso (8 3/8 x 12 5/8 in.); and the fifth an oil on board, 1954, unsigned, inscribed to verso (14 1/2 x 8 3/8 in.).

Claude Vallet studied in Paris and worked for several advertising companies before settling in the South of France in the 1950s. Here, at the foot of the Provençal mountains, he devoted himself to studying and painting the light and colors of the landscape.

Vallet exhibited regularly at the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Champs-Élysées.
