Mostly identified, the CDVs as follows: Union officer studio portrait signed "Apelheimer" on back; Corporal John W. Hill, 2nd Mass Cavalry; 2nd Lt. George S. Jacobus, Co. "H" 8th NY Infantry; Captain M. H. Jouett - "Uncle Matt' with Louisville backmark on the mount; armed officer identified as "Colonel Elias Peisener, 119th NYVI - killed at Chancellorsville 2 May 1863"; Henry Moses Phillips, Rhode Island and Massachusetts Cavalry; a New York 1st Lt. with illegible signature; officer armed with dress sword; NY lieutenant armed with saber and having an unusual equestrian belt plate; soldier of the 40th Mass in civilian garb; the two gem tintypes name "Oliver" (taken in Philadelphia) and Rufus W Rosenberger, captured at Champion Hill, MS.
