New England Chippendale Tiger Maple Chest of Drawers

Late 18th century, white pine secondary, dovetailed case, top with mold stepped cove molding, five graduated lipped drawers flanked by fluted quarter columns with lamb's tongue, applied molding at base raised on distinctive ogee feet with block foot.

Note the tiger maple drawers fronts are in the solid; verso with paper label "Adams Express Company, Dighton, Mass."

Old and possibly original cut/patch to top right rear corner; old and original feet (the front left/right with shrinkage cracks, but have been reset); brasses are later but in the original holes; drawer runners rebuilt and drawer guides and braces are later; back boards are old but reset.
