Circa 1886-1891; serial number 53239, 32-5/8 in. round barrel on walnut stock with fixed sight at bore and an adjustable sight behind the rear barrel band; breechblock marked US / MODEL /1884, lock plate marked US / Springfield with eagle; stamped and painted "73" on shoulder, the butt stamped "23" on the right side; the rifle fitted with a sliding rod bayonet.

Working action; metal elements with some oxidation; normal minor scuffs, losses and dings to stock; the rod bayonet does slide out, however working it loose is difficult; overall good condition.
