Kubik was born in Czechoslovakia in 1930 and defected to the United States in 1948 when the Communists took control of the country. He was an Impressionist-style painter best known for his interest in capturing the perfect light to make the cityscapes of places like Central Park, Wall Street, and the White House come alive. Known as the “Master of Cityscapes,” Kubik had the honor of being the official artist for the White House and the U.S. Open tennis and golf championships. Kubik’s paintings hang on the walls of The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida, homes of former Presidents, as well as foreign royalty.

Good estate condition; some slight sheet waviness; not examined out of frame.
