Joseph Louis Juste was born in Croix des Bouquets in 1940. The youngest of the Louis Juste brothers, he started to sculpt with Georges Liautaud in the sixties. Members of Le Centre d’Art since 1968, he and his brothers contributed to the spread of the "fer découpé" cut metal technique. They had many students, including, among others, Gabriel Bien-Aimé and Serge Jolimeau. Joseph passed away in 1989.

Internationally exhibited in such places as the Frost Museum and the Grand Palais, his works are also part of the permanent collections at the Huntington Museum of Art, the Lowe Museum, the Waterloo Museum, the Milwaukee Art Museum and Le Centre d’Art.
