Exhibited:
2023 Raleigh Fine Arts Society Exhibition, juried by Dorothy Moss, Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the National Portrait Gallery, Washington, D.C.

From the artist:
"In this painting I wanted to portray strong, amazing women artists: Yoko Ono, Freda Kahlo, Diane Arbus, Kara Walker, Georgia O'Keeffe, Amy Sherald, Rihanna, Colette, Yayoi Kusama, Xaviera Simmons, Joan Mitchell, Marilyn Minter and Cecily Brown.

One cannot view this painting and not draw comparisons to The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci and Judy Chicago's iconic The Dinner Party installation.

Artist's Statement:
My work grapples with the overwhelming abundance of information now present in our lives, information that is historical, visual, literary, or otherwise, and shares a fascination with assertive color, invented form, and the construction of dynamic spaces.

My expressionistic paintings depict acts, which are disguised and abstracted within gestural use of paint. With loaded brush marks and fragmented color - my works teeter on the edge of abstraction and figuration. Moving between ambiguity and explicitness, My energetic application of paint, configured to lead the viewer’s eye to dance across the canvas. My paintings are a tactile use of paint, coupled with exuberant and agitated strokes.

Good estate condition.
