Late18th-19th centuries, English and American, wood and iron, including a 23 in. trying plane with one iron marked "PEUGOT FRERES" for brothers Jean Pierre and Jean Frederic Peugeot (circa 1830), and the other "WELDON" for William Weldon of Sheffield (firm mark used 1787-1837); an old panel raising plane stamped "JS" also with "WELDON" iron (12 1/2 in.); a rabbet plane with 3/4 in. iron skew blade, stamped "T.S. APPLETON" with mark of "KENNEDY & WHITE N. YORK," heel marked "6/8" (9 1/2 in.); a plane stamped "WING H. TABER / FAIR HAVEN MASS (9 1/2 in.); one plane stamped "R. THOMSON" with mark of "ALEX MATHEISON & SONS / DUNDEE" (9 3/8 in.); a plane with stamped F. I. HARRIS with mark of "CLEGG 1 THE MARKET / UXBRIDGE RD. W" (9 1/2 in.); a 1/4 in. beading plane stamped "H. G." with mark of OHIO TOOL COMPANY (circa 1851-1920).
