Piedmont region, late 18th century, yellow pine secondary, dovetailed case, hinged slant lipped lip with bread board ends, loper support, distinctive interior with eight pigeon holes and applied valancing, ten small drawers with molded edge, one vertical document drawer, the case with upper long lipped drawer above two side-by-side drawers above two long drawers, all graduated and lipped, applied bracket foot facing that are boldly scalloped.

Front and rear feet are original; front left foot tipped lower 1/4 inch; left side facing scallop tipped; right foot facing later but patterned after the original on the left side; top surface with dark staining; cut/patch at hinge area to lid with later hinges; interior writing surface with wear and staining; later pulls; upper long drawer with cut/patch to left side; later drawer guides; some drawer runners rebuilt; missing some locks; some lip chipping/loss to drawer edge.
