Circa 1800, painted metal face with pastoral scene of a hunter gathering his catch, painted Roman numerals, second dial and calendar aperture, marked "T. Sandow, St. Ives", pine case with old chinoiserie decoration featuring a black field with red and gold hand painted raised motifs, arched hood with hinged door flanked by fully turned columns, hinged waist door, canted corners, the base on short cabriole legs, with pendulum, two weights and winding key.

85 x 20.5 x 10 in.

Old surface with crazing and some surface losses; lacking glass to hood door; waist door missing lock/key; shrinkage crack to bottom front panel of case; later feet.
