George III Mahogany Inlaid Serpentine Front Server

Circa 1800, mahogany veneer, oak and pine secondary, the rectangular top with serpentine front and central inlaid conch shell, banded veneer border with intwined floral design, central convex drawer flanked by two hinged concave cabinet doors, all with central oval inlay and quarter fans to each corner, the right cabinet with upper single small drawer, raised on six square tapered legs with light wood line inlay and inside chamfer.

A good diminutive form in the period with exceptional inlays and embellishments.

Some light wear and light maring to top surface; some string inlay buckling to left edge of top; replaced hinges and pulls.
