Jugtown Pottery (Seagrove, NC), Uncommon Ovoid Jar

1920-30s, salt glazed stoneware with slip and incised decoration of intersecting combed arcs divided by a narrow sgraffito band, small applied loop handles with black glaze over he salt glaze at the upper shoulder, stamped on the underside. This form of jar does not appear to have been produced after the early 1930s.

An Oriental translation form derived from several examples, both Korean and Han.
