Born August 20, 1945, Charles Movalli lived in his hometown of Gloucester, Massachusetts. He received his BA from Clark University and Ph.D. in English from the University of Connecticut. Winner of numerous awards and honors for his painting, Movalli belonged to the Salmagundi Club, the North Shore Arts Association, the Rockport Art Association, the Hudson Valley Art Association, and Academic Artists. A prolific instructor and writer on painting, Movalli was a Contributing Editor to American Artist Magazine, for which he wrote over 50 articles.
