U.S.A. / KINGS IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29 1866 - OCTOBER 16 1860 on top of barrel with additional 44 W.C.F. marking near receiver, brass carrier stamped 44 CAL. on bottom, walnut stock and forend, cleaning rod in shoulder stock storage.
